Womenade of Tampa's History:
2015 Womenade held its first meeting in Tampa and more than 40 women joined the group! Two more parties followed.
2016 Three parties were held in 2016, bringing the total raised for grants to more than $20,000.
2017 Three more women opened their home to Womenade members for fun, fellowship, and philanthropy.2015 Lincoln Tamayo, joined Womenade’s members with an update on Academy Prep for one of three parties that year.
2018 Womenade’s community partners include The Spring, The Crisis Center, Seniors in Service, Academy Prep and Metropolitan Ministries. More than $28,000 in grants were awarded to our shared clients!
2019 Following a fun party to kick off the year, Covid made in- person gatherings impossible. So, the members responded to mail solicitations and participated in a Zoom meeting. The needs of the community changed and Womenade responded.
2020 A busy year, despite Covid! Womenade members funded laptops for remote work for residents at the homeless shelter, car repairs to regain mobility, technical training.
2021 Womenade adds new community partners, including Meals on Wheels of Tampa Bay, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office-Behavioral Resource Unit, St. Joseph's Childrens' Hospital Chronic Complex Clinic, and Tampa Bay JobLinks.
2022 After three years of virtual meetings, Womenade members gatherd in person twice to raise money for those in need in Tampa!
